BMW would use the M color scheme for some of their sport model packages, but that all. No M engine, suspension,or exhaust, all dress. although if this is on a V8 these cars are incredible next best thing to a real M5. If you give me the last seven of your vin I would be able to tell you exactly what you've got.

I picked up a 99 528 wagon recently. There are lots of 5 speeds out there! Don't know about the M thing in Canada.
