Brake Lining warning light

How do you reset this light?.....or should it go out when you replace the linings?

Hello,

After you have replaced your linings(BMW recomends replacing rotors as well), there is a small sensor that must be clipped on to the brake. Once the brake has worn all the way done, this little clip gets knocked off, luminating the "brake linings" light on the dash. All factory BMW brakes come with this sensor, or if you go after market, pelican surely has these sensors. They are about $5-$7.

Hope this helps.
