E60 Petrol dipstick retrofit

I have a 2009 3-litre E60 with a N53 engine. The oil level is determined by a sensor and flagged up on the i-drive. The original sensor failed and has been replaced, and the replacement is now playing up; I have no confidence in the BMW dealer who is trying to find out what needs to be done next. I have read that petrol E60's had dipsticks in their early days, with the sensors being fitted from around 2006/7. I think that it is crazy that current BMWs don't have dipsticks! My question is...is it possible to fit an old-style dipstick to my engine? Has anyone done so? What is required?

Early E60's had the M54Bxx I believe, which indeed had a dipstick.

Shame. We lost the brilliant Vacuum Oil Change when the dipstick was replaced. It's custom machine work on a spare oil pan from here on out. I've been looking for kits for N54-series engines for a while.
