broken fan blades
I have a 1992 750. Two fan blades broke and it appears the cause was the blades hitting the fan shroud on the bottom. I put in new blades [and a new radiator] and they still rub on the bottom. What could the possible causes of this problem be? I am thinking that it is the water pump because there is excessive play in the fan shaft. Could this cause the problem or am I missing something obvious?

are engine mounts drooped ?
I never saw a fan hitting without the engine mounts being drooped or the radiator not seated in the cradle.
