No start in 85 735i

Posting for some assistance in troubleshooting and repairing a non start condition in my '85 735i.

1) There is gas in the tank (half full)
2) The battery is a new optima red top (engine turns and cranks)
3) Replaced the general relay
4) Replaced the fuel pump relay (however the wires look corroded)

Checked the reference and speed sensors as per Bentley manual but I am unsure if I did it correctly.

Any assistance would be helpful.

Note: I did not pull any fuel lines nor do I have a tool to check if there is spark present during cranking.

Any helpful tips on doing this would also be helpful.

Thanks
