740i oil problem

I have a 1994 740i. Everything works great. My one problem is that when I drive the car for trips more than a few miles the oil is leaking from where you fill the oil from. It smells horrible when the oil leaks onto hot parts.

Now this isn't really much of a dilemma for me as it is for my mom who has taken posession of the car and drives it everywhere. She is sensitive to smells and finds it really unappealing.

It first started last week, when my mom took it to get an oil change. The drained the oil, but they over filled it with more oil than what was needed. We took it back and they corrected the problem, and were saying the cap needed to be replaced.

I have replaced the oil cap with a new one. Not as much oil coming out, but still leaking oil. Enough to dirty the engine up a great amount.

I'm not sure about how to go about fixing this problem. This is a fairly new car for my family, and we have no idea how to fix this thing. If anyone has any suggestions to look at, I would greatly appreciate it.
