I would start at the battery. You can hook a volt meter to the B+ jumper post in engine compartment (in front of driver and should have a plastic cover on the post with a B+ on the cover, the post is hexagonal in shape). Put + lead to this post and - lead to a bolt on strut and take a reading, you need to see at least 12.0 VDC. This is also where you jumper the car, you can get her junperred and when running take same reading and you need to see at least 13.5 VDC if the alternator is good.

yes I have the correct Voltage at battery but it seems like the immoblizer or something is stopping it from starting

If the battery is fully charged and the engine will not cranks i would suspect the starter or starter solenoid is bad.

you just bought it? whats the mileage? why didnt you get a PPI?

a motor in that car is going to probably cost more that it would cost to replace the car.

750il 95-97 v12 MaxSil™ 1742250 / Tefcote™ $10,775 $12,335

I would rasie hell with the seller. ESPECIALLY IF IT WAS A DEALER.

Try an 850
Buy a cheap 850 with a sound engine.
they are going CHEAP
I know one for sale in the UK
ita an M70 engine same as the 750.
I reckon you could offer him 4k pounds and then sell off the other bits off the car as scrap on ebay.
Drop me an email if interested.

Sorry to hear this 7fiddy. I have a 850i and these engines are bullet proof unless you overheat one. I would find out where the oil is coming from first. This sounds a bit fishy. Engines don`t blow sitting in the garage they normally blow at redline. I would also ask the person that said you need a engine how he came up with his conclusion, did he do a compression check, oil pressure check, is there a hole in the side of the engine. I would like do know what he based his opinion on.
Regards,
Lane
