Emergency unlock procedure

Hello,
Anyone know how to open door of 88 735i (e32) manually? I tried inserting key, pulling handle and turning key all the way to left but it doesn't work. I believe this has worked in the past but either I'm missing a step or something else is wrong.
If this fails, any suggestions? Thanks!

Jordan

I cant remember if you need to lift the handle first or the direction to turn it , but the emergency unlock is essentially just turning the key hard past the initial resistance. SO I would keep trying it or look up the post I made about it a while back but I don't know which BMW forum it was in.

Emergency Unlock Procedure

Thanks Jeron,
I got it open after 3 attempts. You're 'keep trying' suggestion was part of the trick... I didn't know about the 'force' part which is what ultimately worked.
It worked on the passanger side and took a bit of patience but it finally popped open.
Any idea where to find a cheap set of tires for that same yr 7 series or where to post a request for them? I made the mistake of buying some TRX rims and tires and they're really expensive to replace. Doesn't have to be original, just something that where the tires won't be super expensive to replace.

Thanks again for your help!

This forum has a classified section.

Also try Ebay, Craigs List, local BMWCCA forums and local private BMW repair places usually have old stuff laying around. Buying used rims can be risky so take care.
