E32 Electrical Gremlin

Alright, posting a question for someone elses car. Its an E32 750 Bimmer. The dash display below the gauges does not come on until the car is warm, the heater fan is constantly blowing on maximum and the chimer doesn't turn off. This seems to me to be some sort of corroded wire or relay somewhere, but I just don't know these cars enough to make a complete diagnosis. Anyone know what would cause the display to only come on once the engine starts warming up?
Thanks for your help.

Hi, what year is the 750? More than likely it is the 750iL model. Is this correct? There are two or three different types of climate controls. If this car has the dual thumb wheel, one for the drivers side and the other for the passengers side, if the drivers side thumb wheel is rotated toward the red markings(higher temps) there is a detent, that can be felt when the tumb wheel is fully turned. This will over-ride the system and will make the heater blow at max. Check the type of climate control system you have. Drop me a PM for additional info. Good luck!! Tony.
