self-leveling shocks

I want to take out my self-leveling system on my 88 635 and replace with bielstn shocks. Can I use the same springs in the rear or do I need a new set and if so, what size and where is the best place to find them. I can find all the schoks in the world but am having a hard time finding springs.
Thanks in advance,
Tom

I can only talk from the E32 and E34 experience:
the springs for the LAD shocks are softer. On the E32 you would need also new springs, shocks, shock mounts. And the Pentosin circulation has to be continued, as on the E32 the power steering pump is a dual vane pump, one for power steering and the other part for brake booster (750 and old 735)and LAD. If you block that, the pump will break. So usually the regulating valve under the rear axle is blocked at the outlet to the 2 bombs, so that the liquid always runs in a closed cycle.
