Thinking of getting an 850, what should I look for?

I am interested in purchasing a BMW 850. I am fishing for information as to things to look for, maintenance I should verify, and things I should pay particular attention to when inspecting a vehicle for purchase.

I want to know the good and the bad. I have a Porsche 944 and I am active over on the Pelican Porsche tech forums. I have an automotive background and enjoy working on my own cars.

I have owned one BMW in my life, a 328. I like to research vehicle types before I buy so I am prepared for whatever I find. I want to purchase in the next few months.

Thanks Everyone! SmileWavy

I am also considering an 850, but heard it is getting very hard to find some parts.

that link above did not work.

I do my own wrenching on 5 older porsches (air and water cooled, turbo and not turbo) so not intimidated by maintenance. but want to avoid a problem that is just too expensive to repair.

looking forward to more info. and still searching this forum.
