torque converter solenoid
I have a check engine light on and the computer says the torque converter solenoid is bad. Because of this I cannot get a state inspection. Has anyone heard of this and if is it an esy or hard job to perform. I did a search and have not found anything on the web about this.

oh forgot that part of info. 1997 740 IL E38 Since orginal post I had the shop shut the tranny light from under the hood and then I drove it about 70 miles in sport mode and it passed NY inspection. But the problem is still there as the light is back on. Luckily in NY the state allows two not readys in there system. If it were a newer model it most likely would not have passed.
