![]() ![]() I was very surprised to see the two turbos mounted up above the motor, much like Ford does with its turbo Powerstroke Diesel. Can someone explain what are the benefits of the turbos being mounted in this location? It seems with all the heat generated there it would be the last place to locate them. Just wondering. I seem to recall, and I could be wrong, that by moving the turbo(s) closer to the intake helps reduce the volume that has to be pressurized which is one way to reduce turbo lag.
Does that make sense?

![]() ![]() Yes, that does make sense. I will have to look more closely to see how they evacuate the hot air. It also has two tiny Water to air intercoolers just forward of the turbos. Its really packed in there, must have been the result of 3D-design software. Every nook & cranny is taken up by some part or hose or duct. Amazing. Len ![]() |
