Exterior Color: Alpinwei▀ (alpine white, single-stage enamel)

Interior Color and Material: Lama biege leather (factory sport seats)

Very clean original paint, all VIN stickers are in place on body panels, no rust, Suspension Techniques springs & sways, Bilstein Sports, Cibie H1/H4s headlights, M-Tech II wheel (from e28 ///M5), UUC Evo II SSK w/RK (weighted shift knob), Brembo rotors + AXXIS Ultimate pads, 3.25 open differential, superb overhauled A/C system (still R-12 which is best), Eurospec upper dash vent modification, strut tower braces (front & rear), D’Silva EAT ECU chip, Supersprint stainless-steel exhaust system (cat-back), 8-Series forged alloys w/BF Goodrich Sport tires (1 year-old w/95+% tread remaining), Zender rear valence, many extra parts available (see details below), and Kenwood ez500 CD+MP3+iPod ready receiver & speaker upgrades (Pioneer drivers installed in the factory housings). UPDATED Price: $6000 USD (car + Sachs Clutch Kit & spare Getrag 260/6 transmission) OR nearest reasonable offer.

Available Extras:
For additional cost, a complete m30b35 engine (w/a reworked head) + Motronic 1.3 electronics are ready for installation + a Getrag 260/6 tranny (w/~100k) + 3.46LSD rear differential + a Sachs clutch kit + Eurospec headlights /buckets/grilles (Hella 7" lows / 5.25" highs), e28 ///M5 "light weight" flywheel (resurfaced & ready for installation, and new Bosch Design 3 fuel injectors (i.e., the yellow, 19lb variety with 4 pintles). I would sell the complete set-up (car + all additional spares / upgrades) for $7,000 USD FIRM (shipping is not included).

Additional photos are available here and here from March '06 when I bought the car from the last owner (also a BMW CCA & mye28.com member). Feel free to request additional photos if you are seriously interested in the vehicle. Please note that the photos from 2006 show a different set of wheels (ASA AR1s) than are currently on the car. The ASA AR1s wheels have been sold.

I am only selling this car because I am buying the late-'80 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Coupe that I've always wanted. I do not have room at my house for more than 2 cars.

Thanks for looking...
Tim

Beautiful 535is... I have driven one, and they are fantastic.

How about a little more info on the condition of the engine and tranny... 209K is not a small number.

John R.,
Thanks for the comments.

To address your question, I will say that the engine (the original m30b34 inline-6), tranny (Getrag 260/6), clutch, and differential (3.25 open) are sound. The engine does not smoke nor does it use an inordinate amount of oil between 3-5k oil/filter changes (less than half a quart). The clutch and clutch hydraulics are sound...no issues. The extra engine, tranny, and differential I have available were purchased with the plan to do a complete driveline overhaul when needed. It is NOT needed at this time.

The BMW m30 engines and associated driveline components are very durable when maintained properly with regular fluid changes, etc. BMW used the m30 engine in many of its platforms between the early 70s and early 1990s. The most advanced development of the m30 line is the b35 unit. For e28 fanatics, of which I am one, the b35 swap is quite common.

If you are interested in additional information about my car, I would be happy to speak with you by phone.

Best regards,
Tim

Bump for updated price and inclusion of the Sachs Clutch Kit & spare Getrag 260/6 transmission in the deal. Please feel free to make me a reasonable offer above $5k, however. I'm slated to pick-up my "new" '87 Porsche 911 Coupe next week...

Bryan,
Thanks for your interest. I have a firm offer on the car. The prospective buyer is slated to pick it up on Sunday 9/7/08. If it falls through, I'll let you & the board know.
Best,
Tim

Thanks for all of the interest in the car. It is now SOLD. It left today at the helm of its new owner, a very nice fellow from Atlanta who has a soft spot for vintage BMWs from the 80s. I'm relieved to know it will be in good hands...

Thank you Pelican Parts for the free listing!!!
