BMW Turbo Performance is now producing Mass Air Flow conversion kits for M20/M30 motors.
![]() Me and my budsky Dan have been building an easy-to-use, small, conversion kit for BMW AFM-style motors. It seems to work pretty well. We have several kits installed (I have one on my M88 powered e28 M5 and my M106 powered e23) and Dan has one on his M106 powered e30 (yes, you heard right - over 400 hp in an e30. Dan is nuts.) And we have several M30 motor installs now, including a Brendan Digel's CCA Club Racing winner e12 powered by an M30B35. The kit is reliable and SUPER COOL if you like to TUNE! The kit includes a Ford - style MAF sensor (over 3" internal dia.), piggy back ECU, assorted fittings, additional lsensors, flanges, hoses, clamps, and a custom for your application soldered-and-shrinkwrapped wiring harness with nice oem-style plugs and a high-temp harness covering. The kit can control boost dump and extra injectors. Take a look at our new injector manifold: ![]() Everything is dull stock looking black. The kit includes the serial connector and software (on CD ROM, runs on Windows). You can also use a computer's USB port if you buy the converter thingy at Radio Shack. I did this on my Sony Vaio (no serial port) and it works great. The ECU we are using allows on-the-fly adjustments of Fuel and, with our optional Stage 2 Mallory powered high performance Ignition system, you can also control retard/advance curves. Yes, you heard right. Full control of fuel and timing with two fully customizable 2D maps! Save and load maps as computer files and swap back and forth quickly. As you change data in the computer it INSTANTLY changes the way the car runs. No more turning-off-the-car-to-upload-changes nonsense! ![]() Oh, and I did mention that it ELIMINATES the cursed AFM right! ![]() ![]() ![]() Available now for S38/M88, M20, M30, M106 motors. Check with me for S14 and M102. I read the boards often, so feel free to ask me ques about it. But I respond fast if you send me an email. My email is scott at bmwturboperformance dotcom Keep the shiny side up! ![]()
