My wife has an '89 325 ix with 192k miles on it. As you can imagine, it has some issues and parts are starting to break on it. I just spent $600 bucks on a new Airflow unit, and had hoped that that part would get rid of my problem...... it didn't.
Here's the problem.... When I push on the excelerator, the car wants to die. I smell gas, and sometimes it does die, and it is a pain to get is started again. It drives fine when the car is in motion, with plenty of power. I have noticed that the RPM guadge shows it sitting at way down at 600 when I am at a stop, and forget about turning on the A/C, that kills it everytime. It also has a flat spot when it idles, like it's missing a stroke. I am not just going to throw parts at it until I eventually find (by accedent) the root of the problem. I just can't afford it. Please, someone tell me if you have had a similar experiance, or any sugestion as to what it sounds like. I have my ideas, but I want an uninfluanced answer. Thanks for reading ![]() |
