K1200R Stats released today

Well how's this for starters,.........the K1200R is going to have a longer wheelbase then the K1200S. However the duolever will be tuned to essentially a steeper rake which will quicken turning and negating the longer wheelbase. The K1200R will also have a 2.82 rear end which is lower then the current K1200S. The standard rear tire will be a 180/55. The base price will be $14,250 and then all the options, which are very similar to the K1200S and pricing, etc.

The R seems a bit on the pricie side. Wonder how well it will sell.

In Australia the K1200S will be $25,000Aus and the K1200R $22,000Aus. Big difference in price. The K1200S will come standard with heated grips and ABS.

I am still waiting on a reply from a friend at procycles about what the k1200r will come with as standard.

I am looking at getting it as soon as it is here.

Boris you may be interested in knowing a Power Cup replica will follow the release of the K1200R shortly afterwards!!!! I located a few Power Cup bikes for sale but the prices they wanted were just crazy./

I think the K1200R could be a great choice - I'd definitely get ABS. I imagine the standard version will have plenty of power... hopefully there will be enough wind protection not to make life too buffety at highway speeds, but even on an unfaired F650 life at 120kmph is OK so I imagine this won't be an issue. I am keen to see what pull at low revs is like...

FYI, K1200R will be 21,750 aussie bucks. I'd scan the article, but my damn internet allowance has run out, and my cable speed has reverted to 64k...Not ideal for uploading magazine articles!

How are they going to get a longer wheelbase while making the rake steeper. They surely are not changing the rear end. With the KS at 62 inches this is going to be one loooong bike. The wheelie guys will not like that.
