Mount air intake tube
My frame is missing any sort of threaded connection where the air tube mounts to the left of the box. A rubber grommet is in place at the tube but the frame shows an empty hole
The bike was actually missing the intake when I bought it and I have no idea what sort of nut or clip it used. BMW parts fiche are of no help here. Thanks, all |

Intake tube is two pieces, large round end goes on top of the air filter, and ends on left side mid way back from gas take. There is a socket head cap screw that mounts it. Smaller tube slips on it and goes up left side under tank and there are two cap screws that hold it under the fairing mount.

I'm Guessing the original threaded 5mm insert that was in the frame turned, broke, etc. The BMW shop I used to work at has a Wurth threaded insert tool and various metric size inserts. A good BMW Dealer should have this. If so, you could just ride your R11S to the shop. Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to fix. 2 cnts from TJS

I thought it was a through hole in frame to an insert in the nozzle bracket.
