Tank Bag
I have an older tank bag and a new SWMotech bag. Both don't look very good IMHO, perched on top of the tank, Frankly, I think those bags detract from the nice lines of the r11s. What bags do you think look decent?
I like the look of the Wunderlich Sport bag made for the s1000r. ![]() Anyone know if this bag would fit well on the r11s? Seems like it would. |

NO tank bag "looks good". But you really need something on the R11S. I had a Cortec but the mounting ring on the gas cap was terrible and way too tall. Found a new Givi XS307 quick mount and bag on fleabay for half price and it's OK. But not pretty. It detaches and mounts in a blink. Has to on a R11S; no fuel range.
I found this pillion bag on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XX1HCH4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It came in several days ago. Seems very small but it will be ok for a rainsuit. I have the BMW side cases too but don't need them all the time. Was thinking about a backpack as supplemental storage. Dunno. Let us know what you come up with, please. |

The Multivario OEM bag looks the best.

The pillion bag is looking like the best way to go to carry a few things on short rides. It makes the seat look a bit like some cafe seats, which helps retain the good lines of the bike.

I’m biased but I think the giant loop tank bag looks good enough to keep on all the time on the r11s

Used Bagster for years same bag different cover, never had anywhere near the aerodynamic hassles so many suffer with filling the hole in behind the screen.

I like this one that doesn't stick up so far. If it is expandable it may be just right.

What model Give Tank ring fits the S? Apparently we have aged enough that they don't list it on their web page.
Thanks!

Hey, Chris,
Here is a tank bag with a new life: bum-stop. It was a magnetic tank bag but likes the pillion with a strap under the seat. Looks "aerodynamic", too. And it's scalable. Rainsuit and tire repair kit, maps, heater. And doesn't look the pumpkin atop a greyhound's butt.

My best motorcycling mate happens to be my wife
,the rules in the house have always been the same I can spend as much as I like on motorcycles so long as it carry’s two people my SuperMoto oops our SuperMoto excluded so while the above bag may work well would have me in the divorce court ![]() Although I have to say in recent years BM do a nice line in soft tail bags that fit on the rear rack that I can swap between the K and the X/R ranging from 30 to 50 litres.

I like the look of your 1100S. Custom paint is nice, or at least I assume it is as I've never seen that color before. A great collection of motos you've got there!

Its rather old C/F circa 2003 in those days the quality Ilmberger option that a couple of friends have was not an option, this is the Ilmberger version.
![]() All done in another era when the 1100s was actually worth something it even has a Ti front wheel spindle, custom exhaust from front to back with no balance pipe. ![]() Getting back to tank bags!!! have always been a fan never had any of the aerodynamic hassles that so many have on various bikes because they fill the hole between you and the screen.

I have the remnants of the OEM bag that BMW sold for a billion dollars. The crotch side rubber zippy thing needs a little bit of repair but it can be had cheap cheap. PM me if interested. If no hits I'll put it up on the appropriate page.

Hate to bring back an old post but thought I would share my new tank bag without a new thread.
After 20 years with RKA it has finally worn out. Was going to get another RKA but decided I wanted new technology. Found SWMotech and fell in love with the electric and quick connect. Plus its a hard case and its curved to fit our curves. There is nothing I hate/dislike about this bag. Thinking about getting the larger one for long trips. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I’ve also got that SW Motech tank bag. I think it suits the bike and is the right size for valuables and putting the sat nav in when I stop for a coffee break. There is enough space to carry a spare visor too.
