Very nice bike.
Glad to see people still buying new bikes. What dealer was that back there?

Is push button start new on the 2020's ?

To the casual observer that frame and body style looks just like my 2019 S1000XR...

License plate....

No more Spyder?

I test rode an S1000XR recently and as soon as the local shop gets one of these RSs in I'm trying one.

I have a 2016 with the worst instrument cluster imaginable
but the bike works well, if they would just sell the new cluster as a upgrade,
but naw this is bmw

Wider Chicago area has only 2 dealers - Cycle Works in Barrington (BMW only) and Windy City Triumph in St. Charles (multi make). Windy City is the newest, sort of replacement for Countryside (former Chicago BMW), after Countryside closed mid last year. WCT sells few EU makes (Aprilia, Triumph, BMW and Vespa) under ~1/3 of the building while the rest belongs to HD...

Push-button is part of keyless package (controls ignition and fuel tank lock) which became available on LC R-boxers since '13 when LCs were introduced.

Also, motorwerks in chicago will be the 3rd BMW dealer in a 40 mile radius for me. I think it's a bit much but it does help me get a better deal! Ha!

I bought mine from Windy City. I do know the sales guys at all three dealers though.

Extraordinarily BEAUTIFUL bike to say nothing of the stellar performance: 136hp, 105ft-lbs. This exact bike is on my short list. Good for you.

Appreciate a review of the shift cam function after you've gotten a few miles in.

The shift cam function you don't notice at all...this is by far the smoothest and fastest boxer I have ever experienced. How fast is it? Well it was whooping on my good friends 2019 Monster 1200 pretty nicely a few days ago.

I can't say enough about it at this point. The seat is excellent, the handling is literally on rails, the transmission is much improved (way less clunk going into first gear, sometimes it doesnt happen at all!) and the quickshift is pretty darn good even though I know a few thousand miles will improve it even more.

and the tft! the wonderful tft! I really love the tft! haha.

Ty for the updates... I did know that Motorwerks services BMW mopeds but didn't know that they started selling them too - will have to check them out...

Many mi of smiles on your new Shifty RS!!

Seems like the closest bike in form and purpose in BMW's lineup to the R1100S. Not wild about the angular styling, but it's 15 years after the last 11S and time and tastes move on. Wishing you miles and miles of fun.
Seattle's BMW dealer suddenly shut down about 10 days ago, along with 4 other dealerships run by the same owner, who apparently was more enthusiast than businessman.

RS does look similar to old S but it handles quite differently as it has conventional forks rather than telelever front end... The design is augmented by Dynamic ESA (electronic suspension adjustment) which reacts differently in different modes so you'd have to try it and see if it is to your liking (or not)...

When BMW introduced LC Boxers, GS/GSA/RT kept the telelever front end while R/RS went to conventional forks. Diehard boxer lovers prefer telelever so ymmv...
