Has your clutch failed after fitting extended spline clutch?

Hi Guys,
Having replaced my clutch om my 11S with an extended spline clutch and lubricated, I was wondering what first hand experience you have with wear on clutch or gearbox input shaft after the fitment?
In summary, has the extended spline resolved the issue?
Really wanting to hear from others who have fitted the clutch and how many km's since.
Thanks for your input and regards Mark.

***Calling Jozef Shumann***

I think he mentioned reporting back after putting some miles on and he's got close to 100K now, but I don't remember seeing his clutch/input shaft follow-up. He also replaced the input shaft, so not apples-to-apples comparing to a clutch only replacement.

Thanks for the YouTube clip from Chris,
I have seen it before and re-watched it now (along with all his other clips).
There are several theories running from misalignment of bell housing to lack of engagement of spline to lack of lube from the factory to running engine at too low RPM and chattering the spline.
But I still have the same question.
For those who have fitted extended spline clutch disk, how many km's has it lasted?
Did it resolve the issue?

Regards Mark.

I've had my tranny input shaft spline go kaput on my 2002 R1150RS, at around 28k miles.
Tranny and clutch was replaced under the 2-year/30k mile warranty, including labor cost.

I sold that bike shortly after the work was done.

I have a 2004 R1100s prep. I had my clutch splines fail at a little over 45,000 miles. I put an extended hub clutch plate in it and had Anton rebuild my transmission. I put 5,000 miles on it and it was fine. At 50,000 miles I burnt an exhaust valve. Once the valve issue is taken care of I hope to get 100,000 miles out of the bike at least before I have any other major issues.

BMW clutch spline failures

This is one of the most plausible explanations I have seen.

On the question of the life expectancy of the extended-spline discs, I suspect that it is too early to get a meaningful sample. It seems like a lot of R11S bikes are just now getting to the 40-60K mile range, with many more miles of OEM clutch wear left.

I asked my mechanic about them yesterday as I need a new clutch in one of my oilheads. He is factory trained and only services k and r series bikes. He suggested I don't go that route as he has had a few issues with them. I'm seeing him again next week and will get some more info for you.
