BCR Evens score vs KRS

Hi All,

Early morning ride in middle of no where. Guy in front of me takes off on Yellow Taxi K bike. Hi jinx ensues. He leaves me. Then come corners. I catch. More corners, I pass. Then long straight. He passes. Corners return. I catch...more cornersl...I pass again. Then long straight..but this time, I have enough big Mo...open throttle...continue to full open...maintain full open. Laser sounds so good. This bike is a Bad Influence!! Meanwhile, must check mirror...my "partner in crime" is but a tiny flick in rear-view!

I retreat from full-raming speed and am overcome with a complete Zen-like sense of extreme peace and total harmony uplifting me in a euphoric state of beemer bliss...or something like that. (BTW, must leave off bags next time as they seem to suck a few mph off top end.)

Later, BB

.....And then you woke up.

Maybe his radar detector went off... You're not gonna beat him in a even roll-on...

I still don't see why the BCR would be faster than any other S... Are there any Dyno comparisons??

Hey Billy,

Don't you have any speed limits down there? That was THE most appealing description of an S-experience I've ever seen/read. I wish the snow was already gone.

I agree with Rattus, I had a similar experience on one of our local roads called the putty, we rounded up a group led by a k1200rs in a stretch of the road that was mainly corners, carved them up on my 98 model s, most of them didnt even offer any resistance except the guy on the k, at least he put up a struggle for about 5 klm. These encounters make the ride all that much sweeter.

Motoman, Don't read more into than there is..never said S-cup was any faster that any S, never said it was any faster than K-bike (obviously it is not--why do think he passed me...on the straights I must add!). And no, it won't beat one in a roll-on (dangit). The moral of today's lesson? If the road involves no more skill than merely twisting the trottle, the K-bike is Da Man! If not, well...watch out!

Ismo, I'll plead the 5th on limits...and thanks (fortunately, or not depending), but there are many more.
Jeff, I like that, delusional...well you make up your own mind!
Rattus, Thanks,
Hopes, See... I'm not crazy..just delusional!

Just another in a fine line of memorable rides provided by Rep54. Stay tuned for the next adventure when we get to make The Pass on a fine, albeit a much overly-enamored-with-his-own-hardware, young gentleman on a ZX12.

Later, BB

The answer is simple! The really fast ones get ahold of this cool jacket from the UK web site to go faster!! "I am the Terminator!"

That's one brilliant "bit of kit" as they'd say in the UK. Furthermore it certainly "looks the business"!!!

Hey Hopes, is that the Putty Rd that goes from Windsor to Singleton? I went on a group ride on that road 2 weeks after I got my first bike. That was one seriously scary experience! eek:

Badbilly,
You should not play with those high speed bikes. If you really want some fun look up those little 600s. When you loose them in the curves and they finally catch up they stare in wonder that a little ol'BMW can handle like that. Maybe we should put silhouettes of the bikes that have been 'shot' down in the name of good fun

Good job researching! If we had a shot of BadBillys head we could photoshop mix and match the gear!

Hi CKCARR - now that we haven't heard from Cliff for a while we may need a new heroic poster boy for the "S". We have the BCR, we have the rider gear, we have Bad Billy's Badboy attitude....

and critically...

we have Photoshop.... !!

CK, Ohhhh...you're killing me! Where do I get one and how much?
Rattus, I love the blue boots! Yeah, photoshop it up--lets see how it looks!

Jeff, I know...I find those 600s are mucho funs at a tight, technical venue, like, say Canyon Lake out here. The 600s scream, but have no torque, so, its like, shooting ducks in a barrel for most, as they can't ride their way out of a wet paper bag. However, lest we not dilude ourselves, because I've been to a track day...and I have seen the light...like the amount of it those #*%!! 600s can put between them and me on a tight course that's primarily all straights (ie, they really can accelerate, and if they don't slow down, I can't catch them. )

Oh well, I cant help it if the bike is a squid magnet can I?

Badbilly Its all part of a set! Go here to explore the new styles under rider equipment. See, its called "equipment" because it does make the Boxer Cup rider faster!!

Rattus, if Cliff had one of these leather suits on as a substitute for "thicker skin" he might still be with us!

BadBilly,

Did we cross paths a couple of Saturdays ago (3/15/03) on the 60 between Wickenburg and Salome. I was riding a red S with oversized saddlebags going the other way.

Badbilly,
The answer to acceleration out of the corners is a lower final drive. I'm going to put one in within 3 weeks. I'm, torn between a 2.92 or a 3.00. It should be fun.
