BB in tank fuel line kit
Has anyone got any experience with the Beemer Boneyard in tank flexible fuel line kit? I'm going to be doing a fuel filter replacement and was thinking about replacing the fuel lines while I'm in there. Bike is a 99 S with 33K miles. I figure at 20 years old It's probably time.
Thanks Chris

First, they don't send you the lines for the two fuel submersible vent hoses, if you choose to replace those. Those are special to the price of around $70 shipped for four feet that you cut into equal halves. I didn't like the flexible hoses - to my ear they seemed to make a slurping sound, and ended up going back to the OEM ones. This was the kit from Beemer Boneyard for the fuel pump replacement. If you go to the trouble of replacing the filter, with this age of the bike I'd do a new fuel pump also and just get it over with. ![]() But then I bit the bullet and ordered the factory OEM U and J hoses ![]() They also hold the fuel filter in place through stiffness... These guys sell it both ways: https://www.euromotoelectrics.com/product-p/fpk-231r1100s.htm

CK, thanks for the reply. I'll look into the fuel pump, any idea why the vent hoses are so pricey? Do you think I could use an alternative hose?
Thanks Chris

I don't know why they cost that much, although all the parts do if you get the OEM...
But it may have to do with the hoses being fuel submersible. So the exterior has to withstand fuel eating away at it for years and years. It was either Ralf or Rick that said to me "Yeah, but you only do it every twenty years anyway..."

For vent hose I went to the local Japanese dealer, they had metric fuel hose by the foot. I bought I thin 3mm hose for the vents and 5mm for the external lines. The small hose was smooth and rated for submersion. The large line was fuel injection line, reinforced. I used the single use orliker clamps all the way through.

CK, looks like I'm going to goo with Euromotoelectrics full kit + the vent lines. As you say I won't be doing this too often other than filter changes. I also have a 330i so I'm unfortunately all to aware of BMW OE pricing :P Thanks again for the link.

The submersible fuel line is very expensive, about 3 times or more than regular fuel line. Add the BMW factor in for higher pricing. The hose, if you buy your own, needs the SAE 30R10 rating. Might have this writing on it, too, but I used the piece that had the '30R10' print. NAPA sell it in short lengths and I see it on Amazon. It may or may not be printed 'submersible' but if it has the '30R10' rating it'll be OK.
