2021 Top of the Rockies Rally 7/15 to 7/18/2021

It was sort of early to post this, but since it was cancelled for 2020 they must have been anxious to get the web page up. Not that it's quite up in full yet. And Flatbutt's thread reminded me of it!

The 2021 Top O' The Rockies Rally July 15-18, 2021

The R & R Team may or may not be able to weave it into our rather ambitious plans for the 2021 road trip...

Still planing on it, though. IF it is going to happen!

Put it on the Calendar but in pencil. Ridden the area a number of times but never attended the Rally. Would really like to go back up towards Alaska again next year but planning is difficult with the current events.

You must be the same BadToTheBrown posting on R1150R .net site? Maybe get to meet you up at TOR next year.
2020 has been the first year I haven't taken an extended ride since 1994. I did manage to put about 12,000 miles accumulative on my bikes just doing day rides by myself, kept social distancing only stopping to fill the tank. The BCR has been fun since buying it a few months ago, 2,500 miles put on it getting the new equipment dialed in.

I am, I moved my R1150sR build from there to here since they somehow deleted everything I posted on it and were unable to recover it...Had several posts deleted and just gave up...Revamping my garage while purging 3 bikes on back end of 2020, so hoping to resume this build soon...My first bike builds were R1150S bikes here, still say the best bike I've ever had were those bikes, which are all gone now...I have to say this has proven probably the best forum I've ever participated in, great bunch...Happy New Year and take care...

Ya, it seems like a lot of the guys have gone their way from R1150R.net. Can't really blame them, I'd be surprised if Doug doesn't close it down this year.
I'm a late coming on this site as I bought my S back in September. My son found it a few years back when we bought him a S bike. After riding my sons a few times about a year ago I'd been looking for one as it's such a fun bike to ride. I've set up all my bikes over the last year or so and enjoy riding all of them. Mostly worked out the suspension, can't believe how much of a difference shocks and tires make. Sort of hard putting the money into the old bikes but really if you ride a lot it's well worth it.

Good bunch of people there too, Doug was cool to converse with and seemed really interested in the build but it sounded like some Russian spammer was a problem and deletions were the answer, too bad....

Suspension is huge on these bikes, in my opinion, cheap to own, good to own, can do lots of miles and won't kill you to do it on it, enjoy....

Just seeing if anyone here is thinking on attending. Would like to get a R1100S owners meet up.

You might meet some former and current S owners there but you are unlikely to see many Ss.

I know. I wouldn't take my S on a long trip either. I bought it for day riding up in the Sierra Nevada mountains, it's where I live. I have ridden the S about 225 in a day but really stacking days together and long straight highways doesn't appeal to me on a S. Also the Sportier tires I'm using really only go about 3,000 miles which is about the mileage I'd like to put on my S in a years time, guess I could try out a sport/touring tire.

The R1100S bikes are becoming "Vintage" bikes, just like their riders...

The R1200S still has a few years to go, being the upstart...

Hoping to plunk my vintage ass onto my "vintage" S and get to TOtR for the first time. Got a Sargent from Santa, and we'll see if that will be more comfortable than the stock seat was to SLC in 2017.

I put a Sargent on my BCR a few months ago and it is great, much better than the stock setup. My son liked it so much I bought him one for his 02 S for Christmas. He hasn't put it on yet because other work on the bike is being done over winter but he is close to getting it back in riding condition.

Nothing is worse than the stock seat!

Hey I put that seat on for 5 whole minutes before taking the bike apart again. My old seat was modified but looked terrible and felt worse. The back of the seat pan was also broken, I assume someone pushed on it trying to lock it into place and snapped it. I rode with a stock seat and thought that was better....

Looking forward to getting the new parts installed and trying out the seat on an actual ride, not just making vroom vroom noises in the garage.

It would be cool to see a group of Ses together. You don't see them all that often, much less in force.
