R1100s Saddle bag question

The Bmw saddle bags hang by two plastic hooks at the top of the bag and the locking device in the middle. Is that it? Or is there more to it. Mine seem secure but have a little bit of swing/movement if I pull on them.
Thanks

There should be a brace from the passenger pegs back to a notch in the front of the saddle bag.

That brings up an interesting question. If you bought the bike new without the bags, was that part on the bike?

Rick is referring to the black support bumper running off the rear pegs.

That #3 sure doesn't look like any support I've ever seen on any 1100S. My passenger peg support has only one hole on the back leg for the tubular bag support as shown in the first picture of Craig's.

My 2000 came without passenger pegs or bag stabilizers, but with city bags. I rode it like that for a while, but eventually added the luggage stays at 3 in the fiche.

Ha! I don't know what that picture is either. I kept trying to make sense of it when I was looking at it. Spacewrench's is the right one.

Funny thing about those case supports is they are not symmetrical. The right side sticks out past the pass. peg where the left side does not. No doubt because the case interface is positioned that way... never bothered to investigate as to why. More trivia...the BCR shares system cases with the RT.

Why would it, the RT bags have the clearance on the left for the low pipe that's not needed for the 1100S?

Come with the RT bags as there's no need for the clearance for a low exhaust pipe.

My BCR didn't come with RT cases, I added mounting rails and move the cases from my '04 RT back and forth as needed. Because the RT exhaust is low there is no special clearance requirement for the left side RT case. It's the same outside dimension as the right side bag. You might be thinking of the exhaust side case for a 1150R or K1200GT... they have upswept mufflers which necessitated a cutout in the bag to accommodate them.

Ah, my bad, you're right I was thinking it needed the cut out for the pipe.
