Side cases

Anyone know where I might find a new set of cases or at least a new right side one? Mine had a little getoff on my last trip. At least I had a strap on it so it wasn't completely lost. Anyone know what kind of $$ I'd be looking at?

There's a pair up on eBay for $325 now...

Your cheapest option would be (by looking at the picture)to just buy the inside part off ebay even without the locking mechanism for say 70-80 bux and put them together. Been there done that.

Starting at the top of availability, new and most expensive. They are still available. But like all parts for these bikes, they're getting harder to find.

Here they are at A&S. Most likely they have to order in from Germany.

Looking at that I could just buy the case and switch over the hardware. Thanks for the input.

Well, your downside isn't that much. If you sell the bike later, sell the cases for 70% or so. That's the good thing about R1100S parts.

Also, my insurance covers $3,000 worth of accessories. Never used it, and it's probably/possibly subject to a deductible, but might be worth checking if you're covered that way.

Duct tape?

Seriously, that looks very fixable with fiberglass and filler.

Skibum69 09-02-2020 04:36 PM

I'm more interested in looks than function.

Bigtoe32067 09-03-2020 12:53 AM

Well then black duct tape.

Google "plastic welding." Might be a not too distant Newfie that could form and weld on a new corner for you out of ABS or similar without too much sacrifice in appearance (or funds). Where there's a scar there's a story.
Forget the bit about distance. I just looked up where you live.

Sooo...yesterday I mounted a new front tire on the 1100S and low sided myself left turning out of the shop. Now I need new cases left and right. I'm sure it would be easy if I had any $$. This covid thing seems to make working a hard deal for me but I sure love the time home!

sgoodwin 09-24-2020 04:27 AM

You must have autofuk enabled. I would guess you low sided, unless you're burying your bike. Would it be a sport touring tire that did you in? Every time I tried one I hated it, some I took off immediately, others I rode them out hating the ride but too cheap to toss them. Bags & the mounts make for great crash bobbins.

Skibum69 09-24-2020 05:19 AM

Yeah having the bag on there definitely saved some worse damage. As for the tires they are Battleax T30's and they both feel pretty Nic on the machine.

Any tires with Stone in the name don't belong on a Bike.
