Repairing a R1100RS gas tank

I have ridden the R1100RS (and a R75/5) for many years, since I lived in Berlin and got one of the very first ones sold there, and still have one today living in Arizona.

Had some issues with the bike (2nd fuel pump going bad due to our worthless ethanol fuel) and once in there they found that the gas tank had some small cracks, evidently where fasteners mounted, so I need a fuel tank.

The repair shop has tried to fix the leaks but is not having any success. Has anyone ever had this happen and successfully repaired a tank like this?

Otherwise am looking for a fuel tank for a 1995 R1100RS? Its part number "16 11 2 313 069" and I believe that the tanks from a 1994-2001 model bike are the same.

Thanks!

I don't know what you've tried but I've had some success with a product called Red Kote. It's sold online and at OReilly's. Probably other places too. When I use it I cut it with 20% MEK and do two or three coatings.

Beemerboneyard always have show item not in stock.

eBay usually have better selection if you know exactly what part you need and how to look for them.

I've seen fuel tank for the R11xxRS on eBay frequently, shouldn't be difficult to find.

Well after the comments here, gave up and called them and guess what? They HAD a NOS, never installed, gas tank. As mentioned above it was not even listed on their website, so well worth a call.

Its now on its way to Arizona for me! Wrong color but I can deal with that!

Thanks everyone!!
