Replace rear main seal on 2012 Camhead
I've got my bike split in half, clutch pulled, and found out the source of the oil leak: rear main seal. Now I find out about the special tools that BMW calls for to replace that seal - complicated. Local dealer said BMW no longer offers the tools, so looking for a source that might loan them to me.
BMW part numbers for the “special tools” are: 115701 115702 115703 115705 May not need all of them, but the two that are used to get the seal over the crankshaft seem like they are necessary. I did find a thread here about using a yoghurt cup to do that. Just wondering if anyone here has those tools or knows of a source that would be willing to rent/loan them to me. Thanks! |
really I use a cut coke can it is the right size works well.
