swapping out wheels s and gs
I've got a buddy who wants the rear rim off of my S to race up his GS.
Will the wheel make the transition? All the mounting hardware looks like it will line up, but I though someone on the forum might have have tried this experiment already.

i have seen GS's with regular S wheels. check out www.advrider.com there is a member there with a couple GS's with the alloys mounted.

you have to use the abs pickup off of the r1100s on the rear and you will also need the shorter lug bolts . on the front of mine i used the r1150rt front wheel and the rt police speedo pickup i used the front abs pickup off of the 1100s also the only thing i had to do was take the front wheel to the machine shop and have the man mill the thickness of the abs pick off the rotor towers handles sweet. brakes work great, have fun it worth the work .

Who has a photo of spoked GS wheels on an S? I'd like to see it since I've thought of it before but certainly don't want to go down that road myself...

It might be hard to get a front wheel in proper S size 120/70/17.
I kind of like the idea myself, lighter weight and probably a more robust rim for those gnarly potholes that often lurk in the shadows in the country. Cleaning would take a bit longer. Cheers TREVOR

Are the width and diameter the same between the S and GS wheels? A chromed set would look good with a few other chrome goodies!
