Don't laugh. And the below only applies to the R1200S and newer BMW bikes... Not the R1100S. Does work on the R1200S, F800GS, etc.

After all these years, I just learned that if you turn your bike's key off, then immediately push the right turn signal switch to the right, the lights will turn on and are in some kind of parking mode, to help protect the bike in dark parking areas I guess. Then to turn off, you turn the key back on, then off..

Not sure how useful this is, or how it might drain the battery. But I read it's some Euro feature, not that common in the USA.

It's a nothing, but just one of those things...

I remember that the lame azz teeny tiny bulb in the R1100 headlight housing being referred to as a parking light.

Another non-r1100s cool trick I learned today.
Too bad the R1100S and R1200S don't do this.
