Steel braided brake lines for BCR non ABS

I have shamelessly let the BCR linger in the garage waiting for that moment to service it. Got the oil, filter, left cam chain tensioner kit, LED lamps and even John’s chip all ready for replacement. The only items left on the list are steel braided brake lines.

I’m having a hard time finding the correct application for the BCR. It’s non ABS.

I’m guilty of asking this question before but would appreciate information with part ## so I can order the correct ones and getting the Cup back on the road.

Did you go to the Spiegler site?
I ordered the lines for my 2000 there a few years ago. Choice of colors too.

If your going with Spiegler just go to your dealer and let him order them. They will be the same price and if they don't fit he will be responsible. If you order them and they don't fit it's on you and Spiegler won't replace them.

I've got both Galfer(front) & Hel(rear) on mine. No idea of p/n's, just ordered for the bike. I have 2 lines off the front from the master rather than a 3 way.

In addition to those posted by Swamper which appear to be perfectly suitable and of acceptable quality, there are these and this:

There are some who claim they notice no difference in lever feel with the two-line from master to caliper set-up. I disagree. The OE configuration employs a coupler on the right tube with a steel bridge crossover to the left side. Though admittedly the additional fluid displacement of the second line is minimal - fact remains it's there and translates directly to the lever to caliper action which in turn results in an diminished tactile feel however slight, for those of us acutely sensitive to such things.

as long as yours is not an '05 (which employs a slightly longer front line from the master to the crossover bridge). Why they do not offer a combination F/R kit baffles me.
Here's a link for the front 3 line as per OEM configuration - (choose your colour option):

https://www.oppracing.com/product_display/234721-spiegler-bmw-r-1100-s-boxercup-front-brake-line-kit-oe-design-wo-abs-s-bm0126/

Here's the rear:

https://www.oppracing.com/product_display/234803-spiegler-bmw-r-1100-s-boxercup-rear-brake-line-kit-oe-configuration-non-abs-models-s-bm0127/

Chances are, you may find a better deal somewhere else and even a different brand as noted by others. This is what I had saved on my PC and I've purchased from this outfit in the past so I shared.

Just a note : If you move your clip on mounts to the top of the triple tree the hose in these kits from the front brake master will not be long enough.

First, thank you all for great replies. It's very encouraging to see that the heartbeat of this forum remains strong and a sense of camaraderie.

Mine is a 2004 BCR, stock clip on position under upper triple clamp.

Heard a lot of good things about Spiegler and since is really a one time purchase I went with them. Followed Jozeph's links and in process of placing an order. Just waiting for OPP to confirm ETA. These are special order parts, didn't really expect for these to be just sitting in their stock.

I did contact West Valley BMW but the parts guy I dealt with prior was gone and the new person said they use a local company at a cost of $100/line. He was not very familiar with Spiegler.

In closing, Tim from OPP was very quick to respond. Order should ship out Monday. Can't wait to wrap up the work and ride the beautiful Cup!

Probably just a drop ship from Spiegler.

Question- anyone know if the lines for a 2002 Boxer Cup Prep will be the Boxer Cup or the regular S?

Go to MAX BMW Parts Fiche and compare the part numbers for the brake lines on both bikes.

Duh I should have thought of that, so did it but not giving me a clear answer. It shows options for S with high or low clip-ons, non-ABS or ABS, then the BCR, nothing specifically shows Boxer Cup Prep which has the taller sport suspension non-ABS, but I will measure the current brake line length to confirm.

All 1100S's (except BCR/Prep's) were identical chassis height with differences being ABS or not and above or below the upper triple clamp clip ons - the early/late bikes having 305/320 mm rotors respectively.
BCR/Prep's were fitted with a longer shock/spring front and rear as well as a shorter (365mm vs. 385mm) paralever torque rod.

An '02 'prep' is a BCR wearing a silver suit, sans belly pan. Order lines for an '04 BCR with fitment options as noted above and you'll be set. The last BCR iterations were fitted with front fork tubes from the R1150GS, making the 2005 BCR taller by 12mm allowing a greater lean angle.

Also, the ABS option was not offered on the last year BCR's.

Lines arrived and installed. Haven't had a chance to fully test them as tags need updating but that's just a matter of few days.
