replacement trans

hi everyone,need some help chosing a used trans for my 2000 bmw r1100s,i see a few on line,just dont understand what all the numbers on the cases mean. i dont want to order the wrong one.

Part number should be 23007677002. I think the later ones about 2001/2002 had some changes to the shifter drum but all transmissions for R1100s should work. What is wrong with yours? That is for a silver case transmission not sure of the number of the black case. The casting part numbers are 23112332967 for front and 23117654702 for the rear case.

You should explain in more detail what your transmission is doing or not doing. Perhaps it's not the transmission.. could be a spline problem?

grundo where are you located? I have a used tranny sitting on my shelf. But it could cost a fortune to ship.
