front brake calipers

Was taking off the front wheel tonight to get the tire changed tomorrow. The RSV had hex cap bolts holding the front brake calipers....I never dreamed I'd be looking at a torx bit!

Classic....the one kind of tool I don't have many of (and it's never hung me up before!).

Can someone help me out with the Torx bit size, and if possible, a torque spec?

I'll be I can get it here hours before any of the local BMW shops are open.

Blake

My S has the proper sized torx wrench in the toolkit under the seat.

Good luck.

...ah, the legendary BMW toolkit. I'm not used to having a toolkit complete enough to contain anything Torx.
Excellent.... and thanks!

but since they need to be torqued, would recommend a run to sears to get the right bit and you will be good to go.

yep..... I need a set of Torx anyways, the chore will be finding them in 1/2" drive to fit my Sears Digitork.

At least I can remove the wheel for now and get it to the shop for the tire change.

if anything you should be able to order a set easily online. but i think mine is a 1/2" could be mistaken. it was a few bucks just for the one torx socket.

If sears doesn't have it online, then the online versions of Grainger, MSC, and SnapOn all do.
