Ztechnik O2
Just competed the Ztechnik install (approx 2hrs). I was wondering how many of you dove into the tool box and grabbed a pair of needle nose to snug up the O2 sensor (carefully) since getting a wrench in between the Y is near impossible? Was there another choice? The reason I ask is I wonder if there is enough torque applied. Yea I know I need to check it periodically perhaps, but it would comfortable to know that its on properly.

One more question regarding the plate light wire that is threaded between the cans. Is this material heat proof in some regards. I know on after parking the bike there is quite a bit of heat under there, should this be wrapped or am I being paranoid about it?

I was able to get a wrench on my 02 sencer, (22mm or 24mm) cant remember. But I was able to get tight by flipping the wrench. Also about the wire, No problem yet.

I also had no problem getting a wrench on the 02 sensor. As for the wires Mine had some sort of covering on it. I am going to check to see that all is still good though:-) The only problem I had was that the right header did not line up as well as the left one. No big problem just had to use some force to get it to line up so I could get the bolts into the Y pipe.

No problem with the O2 sensor here either.
Did you not put it on until after the install?

Hello Roger,
I had the cans on the hangers (back fender) and had almost snug the Y with in a quarter of an inch of the headers when I began to thread the O2 into the collector. I had unhooked the sensor cable prior from its side clips and pre-wound it (counter clockwise) prior to threading it into the pipe being careful not to stress the connection on the sensor itself. I was told that it would be best to take off the RT side panel and disconnect the sensor cable in its entirety, although I was in a hurry to get out of the impending storm coming and start her up. And not ever taking off the plastic off before I was kind of hung on how the plastic flip lever worked to disengaged this side panel since I had all the connections off but this point including that hidden one behind the BMW roundel Still kind of wonder about that flip thing on top....? Overall I thought the install was simple and straight forward but just found the 23mm (approx) was a hard to get at with your typical box end wrench. The instruction sheet which I decided to read at that point, didn't give any hints either, so I improvised.. I was just curious as to how any others got at it. Thanks Sirus 2003S
