DIY oil cooler grill.

Hi,

made a mesh grill for the oil cooler opennings yesterday. Bought some mesh from a car accessory shop and set about making it.

Cut to rough shape.

Mould around opennings.

Trim plastic ducts by about 2mm/3mm to allow for thickness of mesh.

Then re-assemble.

Then put bike back together.

Finished.

Hope you like.
Regards
Paul.

looks good. probably spent less that some, myself including for the ones pre-made. the black looks good too. have the silver in mine and really like the contrast. seeing your makes me consider painting it black.

Nice. Thanks for that, Paul.
.
'Been thinking of doing the same with some stainless steel wire cloth I've got laying around. One of those Calif. rainy day putzing projects.

repoe3, i bought one of the premade ones from phactory. i sanded it, primed it, and painted it black. it's been on for a month and is starting to turn silver. you may want to powder coat instead.

thanks scott, i was thinking that would be the case. perhaps a coating of the bed liner paint may hold up a bit better.

Mine looks the same. Its made from a paper-basket that I bought for $6, and have made 2 so far. Its black, and I've had mine on since the bike was almost new, with no fading.
There is enough material to make 3 more...so that puts it at around $2/screen. I think its powder coated too.
