Thumbs up Stained Tuner arrived

What a nice piece of work.
Them down under boys did a very nice job on this exhuast systme, its heavy, lighter than stock, but significantly heavier than the Ti systems.
More later, cant wait to install this in a few weeks.

Installed mine a few weeks ago and really like the quality. I did notice however that the bike vibrates even more now. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on the new pipes. I particularly feel the vibration in the footpegs and seat.

I ran my tune for a year and a half with the stock chip. Put a FIM in it and no backfiring, stronger pull...yadda, yadda, yadda.
.
You do give up a lit'l on the low end but top end is improved. In-Duct, powerfilter, FIM chip and sprockets more than took care of this.

I notched out the Ilemburger hugger in the area it makes contact with the exhaust. (prior to painting it.) Even when cut it looks like its made that way.

I was thinking about that also.
Thx.
I want to get the new system on along with the 5.5'wheel and 180 rubber, see how it all looks and fits up before i make any more decisions.

I have had a StainTune on my S for 3 1/2 years, no baffles. Sounds great, still looks like new.

They turn a nice gold color. Goes well with a yellow bike.

2001f4s, you might want to loosen all the joints again and retighten everything making sure nothing is pressing on any hard parts or rubber bumpers. Usually if the whole system is put on loosely at first it will all line up ok. Sometimes not. Also, make sure all your rubbers are in good shape, and are actually in place, especially the bottom ones. My bike feels smooth with the Tunes. Remember too that sometimes these bikes just run rough from time to time. Have you had enough miles on the Tunes to rule this out yet?

Scott, I will follow your directions. The bike only has 2500 miles and the pipes maybe 400 miles. Your direction sound like a reasonable starting point

Scott's advice is good on any exhaust system, be it car, bike, boat, or airplane. Hook up every joint, fastener, and hanger loosely, nothing should be more than slightly hand tightened enough just to hold it on. Once it has settled into it's natural configuration, then torque it up. Tension = vibration = cracks.

Congrats, Acid...

I installed mine early on - 1,200 miles - never noticed any 'increased' vibration. I put 'em on loose, at first, of course as per sugg's here. I prefer the baffles in - I get enough noise on the Duc. Other than tunes & slight upped TPS, my rig is stock.
.
Show us some After pics.
.
Nice pic of the tunes enclosed...
