International Motorcycle Show-DC January 9-11
Looks like the IMS schedule is changed abit from 2003. usually after bike week in March. 2004 will be at the DC Convention Center. Not sure if it will be the new one or old one (conventions center, that is). trying to find out waht venue will be showing the motogp movie faster. could be a good time for us S'ers to get together for a little winter brew-ha-ha. mark your calendars and we can plan something. nothing like looking at bikes and then drinking some adult beverages. of course any non-drinkers are welcome too

This is what went on at the San Mateo (SF), CA version of the Motorcycle Show. The movie "Faster" was shown in another part of the complex with a separate admission ($15) on a pull down screen with folding chairs. I did not stay because of "time constraints". The show itself was about the same as last year, not enough aftermarket vendors and no KTM, which was a disappointment...

Went to the one in NYC last year. Last one I went to was in '96. You'd hardly know anything had changed in the 7 intervenng years.. Same acres of unimaginative plastic sport bikes and chrome cruisers. Same aisles of boring cheapo vendors.
Only standouts were, the Rune, the Rockster, the Firebolt and those guys from Orange County Choppers.

Depending on the weather, I'm going to try and make it. If the weather is bad, I guess I could take the cage...

I wonder what it would take to make the 250 road leagal??? Plate, mirrors, turn signal. How tough can that be? Is is possible to mount a speedo on a dirtbike? Riding down the interstate during a blizzard would be awesome. I'll bet the 250 will run 70+ mph. Damn you robert, now I'm thinking....

headline reads "Man's body found under 6 foot snow drift 3 months after winter" Authorities said the man must have been travelling on the highway on a dirtbike and slid into the snow drift and froze. No one knew he was there because the snow preserved him.
smallj, think the cage is the better bet. you have an SO now that would like you to come home in one piece. repoe3

Heh, My 250 is road legal and a blast. Here are my bikes when I tried to push the riding season, this is about 1 1/2 hours from home.

Sounds like a plan.

This sounds real good. Where exactly in DC is the show? How close to Union Station?

Carlos, the show is at the Washington Convention Center right downtown. It's in Northwest about 7 blocks west of Union Station. I don't know if it's the old convention center or the new one, but it doesn't matter because they are accorss the street from each other.

OK now this is starting to get interesting. A bunch of road deprived S pilots, beer, in a hotel in DC. Hmm, I'd better leave bail money with my son!
