Kleenex is better than, say, Tampax!
Can you imagine how those leathers would look!

Very funny,

Now doubt photoshopped from the old Mick D. quote.
"Biaggi cries so much his sponsor should be kleenex"
Rare for M.D. to say much, but that was sure a zinger.
I think it was ack in 93 or thereabouts.

Low "Blow"...

I get it now...this from a friend:

"Max loves himself," said Doohan in a rare outburst to the Italian press during the '98 season. "He thinks too much about his appearance and just comes up with excuses when he doesn't win. He cries so much he should be sponsored by Kleenex."

Some one did an excellent job on the photo...

Max is pissed like any hot blooded champion. "Mr. 2nd Place" is not a good lable when you were the King.

He's still one of the greatest 250 champs ever.

Is this for real? If so, this is great I retired five months ago from Kimberly Clark, the makers of Kleenex. Who would have thought that we would one day sponsor a motorcycle racer.

he always seemed like a pussy to me...really great champions (like eddie lawson) don't whine, don't complain, don't give up and don't make excuses. typical euro-wimp.

Though I am not a Biaggi fan he has my respect.
He has won 4 world championships and in his first race on a 500 he set pole postion, fastest lap and took victory!
If he is going to be MotoGP champion this is the year for Max to do it.

Cheers,

Frank

Oh you mean really great american champions, like kenny roberts jnr!
Do you think barry sheene was a "euro wimp"?
As for max,he is a greatly talented rider who has possibly sucummbed to all the pressure of the italian media the last couple of years. He was awsome on a 250.

Nice one, I woulda won but . . . . .the bike....the team....the tyres....the weather....it's europe....it's really tiring going to Australia/Japan/Malaysia (delete as appropriate)

and as for "typical euro-wimp" no offence JonyRR, but blow it out your arse, that would be wimps like Vali then would it ?????

there are also many other "euro-wimps" who haven't been champs yet and just get on with it.... you do your countrymen no credit by comments like that.

Rapid I agree Max was a great champion, and IS still agreat rider, he can be soo smooth ...

Right, I'm off for a lie down now

Cheers

Appropriate sponsor! He could still be a contender for race wins if not the championship, but stop the crying already! At least Rossi can say "he rode really fast today" instead of Waaaaaaaagh!

Eron,
I know what your saying but,the truth is max was on a inferiour bike.Rossi had the best of everything and at that level of racing the smallest difference in the bike can make a big difference in the race.It must have been really frustrating for him knowing that maybe if he had the same machinery he would be able to compete on equal terms.Honda are doing it again this year,HRC will be running the latest/fastest bikes, while the sattelite teams will be getting last years bikes or in the case of poor mr edwards 2 year old bikes.I really dont like hondas politics in racing.I say give everyone a fair crack of the whip!

I agree,

reading a testing update today and it looks like HRC have shafted big Colin, again ......

He gets Sete's spec bikes from last year despite being promised latest kit, Haydon ( who whilst good is not IMHO as good as Colin ) along with Barros gets the latest specs and Sete & Max get last years gear, while Colin and Makoto get 2 year old gear.

HRC seem to really enjoy pissing Edwards off, he goes out and against all the odds wins them the Ducati, sorry World Super bikes title and they shaft him, comes back to them, and they shaft him again.

I wish they'd get their act together, what makes Haydon the anointed one ?
Same spec for them all I say, they're all good enough

Cheers

what makes Haydon the anointed one ?

The almighty American DOLLAR. Hayden sells, Edwards does not.

Hey Highlander

So why is Haydon an AMA champ more marketable than Edwards a WSB champ ?

I don't have anything against Nicky, he seems like a nice kid and he's certainly talented, I enjoyed watching him race in the AMA, but I'd put my money on Colin in an equal head to head. Is it because he's young and single, and Colin's married with a kid ?

Certainly for the US marketing man Nicky will sell, but outwith the US I think you'll find most people would more readily identify Colin. I'd just liek to see them all on equal kit, then it really would be down to talent.

Obviously big H reckon that the US market is worth it......

Cheers

Shame about Colin.
Hayden is the new American golden boy without a doubt.
He has the talent and the drive...(but then again he misses the old folks back home...)
Prediction:
He will be the last of the US GP stars.
The land of the rising sun will soon anoint one of their own.
You heard it hear first...
