Thumbs up BMW Italia Clear Lens vs. Clear Alternatives

Greetings,

After a one minute evaluation yesterday, it is CLEAR to me that the Clear Alternatives, clear lens for the "S" wins as far as illumination and visibility. (Conspicuity!)

Based upon this I have cancelled the BMW Italia lens production.

Clearly the Lower half of the BMW Italia lens is a light block and not a light amplifier as the MFG told me.

I have been in touch with our friends at Clear Alternatives and have secured a great deal for their clear lens.

The finished product will be available to ship in 1-2 weeks.

For the people that have ordered the BMW Italia clear lens from me, I can now offer you the Clear Alternatives lens at a discounted price. Much less than the BMW Italia lens.

Should anyone else want the Clear Alternative lens for their "S" >Let me know.

This deal with Clear Alternatives is based on volume. The more we order the less the cost will be.

Cheers,

Robert Foster

BMW Roundel Clearly Nice

Greetings,

Lap times will improve as this adds 2.7 HP @ 20' on the poser dyno.

As far as a picture>go to the post:
Finally...clear tailight for my S. Pics

Look at Marcelos pictures>that is a rough prototype, the finished lens will be clearer. With the LED it will be much brighter than stock!>and you will not see RED unless the light is on. Or you can opt for the standard red bulbs>that will not fade>bulbs are made from red tinted glass.

Will post pictures as soon as I get the real deal.

Otherwise, if you want one let me know, I only have about 25 left. I will be able to ship in 1-2 weeks.

Cheers,

Robert Foster

Count me in on one of those babies. Did you get my e-mail Robert?

Looks like it will improve overall topspeed almost as much as the now famous passenger-peg-removal mod.

Robert: You're absolutely right about the "light amplifier" being a light absorber in the stock lense. That's why I dremmeled it out of my stock red lens to get more conspicuity when I put my hyper-lite LEDs in that lower area inside the light housing. Much better visibility I thought.
I was on your list for the Italian model but now please put me down instead for one of the new clear jobs with LED bulbs. Will e-mail you directly also. Thanks!

Think I'll keep the red lense so I'll have a unique R1100S, one of the only ones with the red lense. hee hee.
