What do you guys make of this?
With the arrival of this storm I've admitted defeat officially for this season. I went to the garage today to topoff the tank with stabilized gas and to run the bike for a bit.
After it was warmed up enough to stop smoking (shes been idle for about 3 weeks) I winged the throttle a bit. It revved fine, but when the throttle closed I noted a flicker in the lights. It only happened at throttle closure and only for a moment but I've never noticed this before. The bike started and idled as normal. Any comments/ clues gents?

Don't Give In Man!
Storms pass, sunshine returns, salt washes away. I too started up my hunny on Wed (40's), but still haven't performed any winterization. I just know we gonna hit 50 er 60 here next mo. And on a day when I'll be home t' ride! Yeah! Dream on!

I've noticed the same thing on mine - an '02 - but only when I first start it up in the morning and when the bike is cold. The front headlights will flicker just a bit, but once everything is warmed up, oddly enough, I don't seem to notice it anymore. Of course I don't know if it matters, but I keep the high beems on all the time so perhaps thats it. Not sure that helps, but you're not alone.

Rob
Stabilized gas is what we fair weather pilots put in the tank for winter naps.
It is a fuel additive which interferes with the formation of varnish.

If it's been sitting for a while, the battery is down a bit...you'll notice a charging voltage more (if that's the right way to describe it) when revving up the engine. You will probably almost always notice the lights brighten a tiny bit when blipping the throttle from idle...if it's dark enough to see it
