Sidestand

So now that it's really pretty cold out every once in a while I start up the bike let it warm for a minute or so on the sidestand in neutral, and then when I flip the side stand up (still in neutral mind you) the bike will die as if it was in gear with the sidestand down. WTF? It will generally start back up, but sometimes I need to give it some throttle to fire again and then it runs a tad funny for a couple of seconds and requires some grip as it doesn't quite want to idle on its own.

Any ideas?

only obvious ones... did you troubleshoot the sensor? If so, just tell me to shut up and I'll post some girly pics.

Johnny,

Did you get it resolved? I totally wasn't trying to hijack your thread.

Now that the temp has risen to 40F+, even overnight, the ailment hasn't recurred. Dunno.

jonny, try cleaning it with a strong degreaser, then use some S100 anti-corrosion spray stuff. i use that stuff on all sorts of parts of the bike and makes them happier. also, it wont hurt the switch at the sidestand...at least it hasnt so far on a couple bikes. wish our temps were getting above 40 during the day, let alone at night.
