I haven't owned a tank bag in 25 years of motorcycling, but thought I might get one for a long trip next summer.
I received an email from Bob's BMW offering a Held 30 litre bag for $79, including rain cover. I bought one and it arrived in 3 days. Held tank bag special Fits on the S just fine; two leather covered hooks slip under the fairing edges near the steering head, and two fit under the front most "ears" of the side of the seat. The bag is pretty big and I could lay my head on it and take a quick nap... I have not tried it loaded and at speed yet. I am sure it is by no means the greatest tank bag ever made and it would not be my first choice for an around the world trip, but it's good enough for as little as I will use it, and the price is right. I have no affiliation with Bob's, though I go back with him a long way. When I first met him he was selling used parts out of his single car garage in a residential neighborhood; now I believe he is in the top 5 dealers in the US. PS: the same bag is also available at this place for $69: Somewhere I have never heard of Last edited by UberXY; 01-22-2004 at 06:21 AM.. |

Uber, the folks at http://www.newenough.com are good people; helpful and have been around quite a while now. Just FYI.

Bob: ok thanks. They were new to me; they sure seem to have some good prices on things.
