NorCal meets SoCal in MidCal

Hi all, Weekend of April 3,2004
The time has come to meet people. Yes I know, your a lone wolf, your to fast, your to slow, you ride two up. WHO CARES, come and ride some of the best roads with little or no enforcement in the area. Just think, Ride Big Sur, Go for a 3 mission ride, get lost and find a winery. This can be yours for as little a letting me know you want to ride April 3.

Ok here is the deal.
I have gotten a 50% or more discount on a very nice hotel,(resort), that is centrally located in the area. Stay one night, Stay 3 nights your call. Sat night will cost $129,( Usually 260-450).
Check out the link:
http://www.cliffsresort.com/
Pair up or bring a date,(or wife). if they don't ride shopping in San Luis Obispo is 8 min by car.
If this is not your taste the area is full of hotels.

Food,
For Saturday night
We can eat as a group at a very nice restaurant next to the mission or BBQ or do your own thing, it makes no difference.

Sat ride, Big Sur,
Start in Shell Beach,(Pismo Beach), Back roads to Cambria, get gas, 79 miles to Big Sur along some of the most interesting curves you will ever meet. Eat lunch, then its your choice, back the way we came or on to Carmel valley Road to eventually end up on G14 to Paso Robles. Up and back on Hwy1 will take 6 hours. Going to Carmel Valley Road to G14 to Shell Beach will take 8 hours.
Sunday, your choice
I will have 3 ride available to you with local riders to show you the way. The choices are the 3mission ride
Here are the details:

Meet: 8:00 am @ the Mission in SLO (on the Broad Street side)
Depart: 8:30 am
Arrive: ~ 9:00 am @ the Mission in San Miguel (for picking up North County riders)

From San Miguel, the route takes Indian Valley Road to Peach Tree Road, Hwy 25 to Bitterwater and then G13 into King City for gas and food. Then it is G14 south to the San Antonio Mission in Fort Hunter Liggett.
Make sure you have easy access to your bike’s registration and proof of insurance, as this stuff will likely be requested by the guard entering the base.

From the Fort, it is south on G14 to Interlakes Road and Nacimiento Lake Drive into Paso. South County bound riders might want to take the back roads like Chimney Rock, Adelaida, Vineyard and Old Creek instead of taking the freeway back home.
The Jalama Beach ride thru Bull Canyon, Foxen Canyon Buleton.
The Park field ride, where the earth shakes rattles and rolls.

This will be a very interesting ride. The SoCal boys will have a smile on their faces. As for the NorCal boys, FlynBmw,(harold and Jean) and friends,(Raven,Pat, the SF Boys?), I hope they will take this opportunity to travel road less traveled by their group.
Bad Billy and the Arizona group are also invited.

CYA
Jeff

flynbmw. I agree! MMMmmmm leather...

Anyways.. I did the 25S-198E on monday. Was a BLAST, only added about 30 minutes to my ride time, well well well worth it. Saw only a handful of cars on the 25, with another handful on the 198, which made for nice speeds.

shannonnunley - you do indeed have fine taste, but why post it here ? There are a multitude of sites on the web for such content. This one happens to be about motorcycles. The fine eye candy you provide has the potential to offend and/or cause concern for those viewing on an employer's computer (I know, none of us would mis use company resourses that way, but someone might). Anyway just my 2 cents.

Shannon,

IMO I think it brings a little levity to a board that sometimes is too engineering oriented or "stuffy." Just keep it clean so it doesn't go overboard. Unless she looks good overboard of course!

Because... aside from a recent 15 page post arguing about the benefits of an induct, this place is pretty dry most of the time. My technical knowledge leaves a lot to be desired... so I give what I can.

Yo Jeff,

Hey buddy, thanks for the invite, and I'd love to have that drink with y'all! Still evaluating if its in the cards...I'll bet the roads, and company, would be a blast. BTW, you're organizational skills are most commendable!

At the very least, Shannon would represent us "Zonies" quite nicely... and I doubt anyone will be waiting for him (plus he won't ditch you at the pump! ).

Later, BB
