Thumbs up First impressions

Picked up the S yesterday at my dealer in Bentonville, AR. Rode up into s.w. Missouri & down Arkansas 23. Great road, the weather was nice, a great way to break in a new bike. I LOVE this motorcycle. The two things that stand out the most are the handling and brakeing. Power is fine for me. Smoother than I remember the one that I rode a few years back. Of course you have to remember, I'm coming off an 18 year old K bike. I was worried a little about the seating postition, but was pretty good actually. Seat feels like a board coverd in vinyl, I hope it gets better or I'll have to go aftermarket, any ideas? Anybody tried a Mayer?

You will want a new seat. Do a search here and you will earn your Phd in seating.

You could also pay a visit to the Mica-Peak Bike Registry site and get a lot more background information on other S owners experiences.

Try - www.micapeak.com/reg/bikes/R11S

I found the seat to be very uncomfortable at first, but after it has killed all the nerves in your seating area, you will get used to it - eventually!!

Cheers

May take a while, my seating area being what it is.

Hey!

I didn't know they were selling these at Wal-Mart now!

Close. Until they moved a couple years back they were right across the street from Sam Waltons first five and dime.

Don't make a hasty judgment about the seat or accept other people's impressions. Seating is very individual. I have the stock S seat and I find it very comfortable. You may not, but avoid knee-jerk "gotta replace the seat because everybody says so" reactions which may result in spending $400 for a worse seat.
