Happy Belated 100th B-Day: Ernst Henne
My post in the Next R-S thread reminded me:
Ernst Henne turned 100 in Feb. For those of you who don't already know, Ernst Jakob Henne set many landspeed records aboard BMW motorcycles during the late twenties and '30s. His last run in Nov of 1937 topped out at 174mph. This record stood until 1951. He also raced on four wheels and drove a BMW 328 at the Nurgburgring. He retired from racing 67 years ago!!!.  May we all live so well and so long.
