Installing front Ohlins. Alls well EXCET the top shock sleeve/bushing that slips over the stock shock is too small i.d. to slip over the top of the Ohlins threaded shaft.
Looking at the instl directions it shows no such sleeve in the exploded view. Do I just leave it out??? That makes me worried. There should be a bushing in the frame that takes up the slack. Yes? ![]()

Rapid,
I gotta Ohlins for the front on the way in the mail. I've been thinking about how to install it. Did you take your front wheel off? Which end of the stock shock did you unbolt first? What was the fix with the bushing? Mucho Thanks. |

no need
No need to remove your wheel...or anything other than your horn per instructions.
Unless your a stickler on the lower bolt torque and you can't get to the nut with oyour Torque wrench, you can leave the bodywork on and hand tighten it. If you have a way to jack the bike up, I have a Sears motorcycle lift ($99). If you can get the front wheel off the ground with a jack or boards nder your centerstand. Idea is to get the suspension (front shock) extended to the full. Thn just remove the top nut and then the bottom bolt. Slip out the old and slip in the Ohlllie. There are instructions with the Ohlins. My cnfusion was with the sleeve that fits over the OEM shock that bushes up the O.D. of the shock to fit the frame hole. On furthur inspection of the Ohlins, the O.D. of the shaft matches the O.D. of the OEM sleeve....therefore no need for the sleeve. G'luck ![]()
