Wouldn't it be great if all motorcycles in the future had...
I see one of our members had his response to this question posted in the AMA magazine "American Motorcyclist"

Flatbutt,
You will forever be remembered someday as the guy responsible for self righting mechanisms... when they become an option. Of course had I never sent you that engine guard, I wouldn't have known your name, and your secret fame would still be secret

A flux capacitor. Or an interociter. Either is better than GPS.

Data aquisition system (DAQ)!!
Ok, so its no secret that I'm a space-geek. But... wouldnt it be great, if you had a nice DAQ on your bike, where it would measure, and record speed, RPM, air-fuel ratio, Gs, suspension travel data, air tem/pressure/humidity/altitude, GPS corrdinates, engine temperature, and tire pressure/temperature and miles per gallon. Then you'd come home from a nice ride, plug the DAQ into your handy computer, and there you have it. Everything you need to know to tune your bike just right! Of course, All this is available now, and for the person who's willing to spend the $$$ and time, this can be had. However, it'd be nice if there was a single package, or maybe an option from the factory... -arbi

arbik:
We're talking about a mechanical device here. As soon as you run it the thing starts to detune itself to some degree. With a DAQ like you suggest you could wear out a screwdriver a week and give yourself high blood pressure at the same time. Just ride and enjoy. There really is such a thing as too much information (TMI).

Moybin,
ya....but it'd still be pretty cool ![]() I'm just a big fan of DAQs. I'm actually pretty interested in these personal DAQ systems that are being developed now. The military has been looking at these too. No worries though, I do enjoy my bike, and the DAQ is not for increasing your blood pressue...its just a nice-to-have. cheers, -arbi
