Question Mystery Question of the Day

Hey, I'm missing something.

Under the tail section there is a plug of some sort for ? Motronic?
Not sure, at any rate it's missing the cap. It's about .75" in diameter and hollow inside for some sorta plug.
Kow what it's called?
I need to find/order one...

Very funny JAS , i think...
Here's a hint: it's actually under the rear section, black platic, and looks like it needs a scre-on cap...

No, I'm serious ... could it be the plug for the accessory socket? All S-bikes have them (AFAIK), they are under the seat, and they don't come with a cap.

Although even if they did, the accessory socket plug isn't threaded...

You mean like to plug in a vest or other stuff? I have one of those mounted on the left side.
This looks bigger in diameter anyhow.
I;m sure it's a test plug of some sort.

No, it's the plug that your accessory socket plugs into the wiring harness with. But if you already have the accessory socket installed, then never mind.

The accessory socket plugs into a rectangular fixture that is tie-wrapped to the wiring harness on the right side of the frame behind the side panel.

The plug you are referring to, with the screw-on cap is I believe the socket that the motornic diagnostic computer is plugged into at the dealer. At least, I can't find any other use for it. It has too many connectors to be for the accessory socket or for some light.

rapid is refering to the interface plug that does have a screw on type cap, not the plug in type harness for the accessory plug.

rapid, it's the interface port for the BMW motronic diagnostic. I capped mine with an old cap for a barbbque propane cap, and used electrical tape to secure it. If i could ever get the pinouts and the software, I'd like to talk to it with my laptop; I just got an OBD-II cable and the software for my laptop to reset the trouble codes on my '99 dodge ram....it's just a question of the right connector and the 'secret' BMW software. the shop i talk to is running the diagnostic s/w on a win95 pc, so it can't be too sophisticated. How about it, boarders, anybody out there got the beemer s/w and a schematic of the connector pinouts?

Oh; alright...got it.
I don't suppose you could make that Kate Jackson or the original Emma Peel (I forget her name but I love brunettes). Maybe even Umma Thurman if she's NOT a blonde...

Sorry Jonny, she's outof commission...

Emma Peel

Department: Unofficial operative
Active duty: 1965-67
Height: 5'-8½"
Assigned to: Steed, John

Born on a spring day in the late thirties, Emma Knight proved to the world, at the relatively tender age of 21, that she was as competent and capable as any man by becoming Chairman of her father's corporation, Knight Industries, where she ruffled more than a few feathers. But it wasn't enough for this brilliant, restless young woman...

Not to mention attractive young woman. So acute was her unselfconsciousness, though, that she was virtually oblivious to the fact that she could inflict whiplash on any male having a pulse. And her daring, sometimes experimental fashion sense only served to heighten this effect.

She married Peter Peel, a test pilot who fell victim to a plane crash and was presumed dead. This was, perhaps, a blessing in disguise, for she seemed far too independent to spend the rest of her life quietly tending the home fires.

It was John Steed who provided her with exactly what she sought in life: action, adventure, intrigue, danger, and excitement. As a bonus, she got a fencing partner, a loyal friend, and a lifetime supply of fine wines.

And it was John Steed who afforded her an opportunity to exercise her prowess in Karate and Kung Fu, as well as her considerable mental faculties, to defeat of all manner of diabolical mastermind. Equally at ease sewing or writing papers on thermodynamics, Emma was also adept with sword or gun, and could shoot the cork off a champagne bottle at twenty paces--or was it thirty?

Although she was considered an amateur, she often out-sleuthed and out-fought trained agents, and so was held in the highest esteem and trust by her peers and by the Ministry. However, the discovery of her husband alive in the Amazonian jungle led to her early retirement from active service--a significant loss to the Ministry and most especially to Steed, for indeed she occupied a very special place in his...
