Would you trade it in now?

If the new R1200S was to be released first of Jan, would you trade in your S???

You forgot the category "I can't afford to trade right now". But no, I'm sticking with my R11S. I had my pick of all the newer bikes (the 1150s) and made my decision. Right, wrong or indifferent, I'm standing by that decision. Probably for a long time.

Only if it runs significantly smoother would I be interested. Except for the vibes, I really like my S. However, there are other bikes I'd have to consider as well if I were to trade her in. For example, the new '05 Triumph Sprint ST looks interesting.... or perhaps a SV1000 would meet my needs for a whole lot less money.

BMW Roundel

Of all the bikes that I've owned, past and present, R1100S is the most unique bike of tem all. I love the telelever front end. I have just installled a Lazer II exhaust and a pair of Ohlins. It is so fun to ride my "S" bike that I am hanging on to it for good.

I wouldn't, I love my S. I'm not saying I would get another bike, I would but it would be in addition to what i have.

The S is a keeper. One can always have more than one motorcycle. Why get rid of it when it is paid for. When I am too old to ride I can go out to the shed and look at it.

Oh Yeah. Just what I need is another one of these from BMW! I've had this seat for both their cars and motorcycles.

I wouldn't buy the first one cause I don't have the cash and decided to invest some more in my old S.Ordered the Glaser windshield this week and I can also buy a secondhand laser end can wich I will be hearing about tomorrow.I hope the deal pulls trough cause seconhand ones are pretty rare here in the Netherlands.I also suggest people to stay away from that MZ cause I read that the engine and injection are horrible and need to be sorted out before it can be a serious contender the chassis should be quite good though.

Probably by riding a r1200gs Iceblue.I've wanted to get a r1150 gs to but now that the new 1200 is out it just doesn't seem such a smart buy anymore. The 1200 does everything better with more power and less weight.the stories you hear about instabbility of the 1200 on the highway should be pretty easely cured by fiddling with the standard suspension(or so say all 1200 owners).

I would never trade the S, hell I'd take a beating considering the resale has gone to sh#$ I'll put well over 100k on it like my K bikes.

I would only go for a new R12S if they kept the general styling of the bike and did not get all futura-istic with it. It would have to lose 50 lbs and gain 10bhp. Also I would have to be able to swap my Ohlins over to it and maybe the Staintunes. In other words, I'll likely be keeping my R11S indefinitely. I still really enjoy this bike

Would I trade UP? Sure it's possible. I like my 'S' but it's still just a machine. I also liked my CBX, Plymouth Roadrunner, Browning HiPower.

Are we gonna hang onto them as technology marches on and better products appear? Doubtful, or for sentimental reasons. In ten years, they could be the equivalent of model Ts.

I'm inclined to keep her for a very long time. Can't say why, it's a visceral thing, totally intangible and irrational.

I'm going to hang on to mine for a while. The styling of the bike continues to grow on me. I'm considering a second BMW. I'm torn between a R60 from my birth year, 1964 and a R1150GS Adventure. Strange choices...

I would only trade it in when they come out with the new S the one that will have the new 1200GS motor.

You guys raving about the 1200GS I read already a bunch of problems about them such as transmissions, recalls, the usual stuff. I'd give it another year before buying one.
