Too bad you can't see it on a Mac.........from REV

It is a good piece of video, but oddly enough it plays fine on my mac. Let's not even get started on windows though. Stable, intuitive, and trouble free are not good descriptors for windows that's for sure.

Every time I hear some Luddite wailing away about robots taking over the Earth I just say "They ain't running Windoze!" Krap, I'm almost always tinkering with the robotics (crude though it is) here at work. Locked up bits in the programs, mysterious crashes, loose sensors. Makes me almost want to believe MicroSquish developed the stuff for Rockwell. Anyhow, we are a LONG way from autonomous robotic systems capable of running people's lives. Not in my lifetime, nor my great-grand kids life time. Just worry about your apparently normal neighbor(s).

...troll....

I can see it fine on my mac - althought that video's over a year old. And how many time has your Windows machine crashed since then? ;)

I only took my Mac down once in that year, to install more RAM. There really isn't a point to having a power switch on it.

In ISOLATION a mac is somewhat superior (but OSX is UNIX, not,r epeat, not anything original from cupertino) but wait till they are on a network...they still have the same problems...I have good friends that own a commerical printing operation and I'm always bailing 'em out of a sticky TCP mess (appletalk don't play well with all those 'other' protocols in a mixed-media environment) everything has it's strengths and weaknesses....try building a mac from parts you can find at a discount at Frye's...ani't gonna happen, just like a sun box's motherboard costs 2 grand american..honda vs yamaha vs harley, only with 'puters. All the best hackers run macs, though (*eviltwin says I saw the LIWA guys with powerbooks)

Sheesh, this is an old issue. Neither brand is perfect, let's just agree to disagree. I've had to repair my Mac laptop, a couple of times. In the same time I've had 3 PC boxes at work crash and burn hard; need new motherboards, new hard drives, or just throw the dumb thing away and buy new.

I don't know which I like less: seeing Mac vs. PC bashing going on and on (who says there's no such thing as perpetual motion?) or all the political krap on TV. At least the political sheet will back down mid-November.

But then, nobody gives a krap about my opinion...

Somewhere out there is a Neal Stephenson thing called "in the beginning was the command line". It places all this crap in pretty good perspective.

I however think using what was originally DARPA and ARPA net to blather on about bikes and look and Shannon's hoochie pics is PROGRESS!!

Is there a chain vs shaft thread somewhere I can check out?
